What exactly is a Modernism Show
you ask?
Modernism Shows began approximately 20 years ago in NYC. Since
then, many major cities throughout the U.S. and Europe now host
their own Modernism Shows, usually once a year.
These shows celebrate modern
design as we know it today. The Modernism Show promoters select
65-100 dealers to exhibit at these shows. Exhibitors such as
myself travel across the country to offer their merchandise for
sale to collectors of 20th Century Design.
The styles shown range from Art
Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, and Art Deco to Mid-Century Modern.
Items such as Furniture, Decorative Arts, Jewelry, Vintage
Posters, Art and Vintage Clothing are offered for sale. Items
date from 1900 thru the 1970's and must be fine examples of 20th
Century Design
You will see a lot of famous
designer names showing up for sale! The show weekends usually
begin with a preview party on Friday night. Food, drink,
entertainment and Power shopping!
Throughout the weekend there are
special guest lectures, exhibits and walking tours. Most show
hours run through Saturday and Sunday and many events are often
sponsored by local Art Deco Societies.
