French Art Deco Figural Bronze Seagull on Wave

Wonderful figural bronze depicting a sea bird in flight, skimming the waves of the sea.
Cold painted bronze, the waves are a beautiful sea green color. Patina intact
Mounted on the original black marble pedestal base. # 31 stamped into the bronze, 
next to artists signature, A Becquerel.

Bio: Andre Vincent Becquerel (1893-1975) , born St. Andre-Farivilliers, France.
Becquerel studied under Lemaire and Lecourtier and specialized in animalier and child sculpture, 
especially sea life motifs, including fish and sea birds.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1914-1922.

Condition: In excellent original condition. Patina intact.
The original marble base has flea bites consistent with age.
