Rare Bimini Glass Large Art Deco
Woman Figurine
Circa 1920's-30's, Vienna, Austria

Very delicate and rare figural
creation of all lamp-worked blown glass.
Art Deco nude woman with her arms stretched over her head, holding a
large sphere or ball.
The curls on her hair are tapered and point upward. Her nose and
breasts are defined.
The entire figure was painted with a soft metallic gold paint. This
is a larger than usual Bimini figure.
The clear glass base is intact and offers her balance and support to
stand on a table.
Known as "frozen poetry", bimini glass figures from the Art Deco
period are very rare today,
as most have been broken over the years.
The Bimini workshops were formed in
Austria by Fritz Lampl and Joseph Berger in 1923.
Their specialty was lamp-worked animals and people. During the
period between 1923 and 1936
many different forms were created and can be seen in Neuwirth's book
entitled "Bimini".
Bimini glass can be indentified by it's delicate and thinly blown
forms that express gentle
and sweeping motions. To learn about Bimini glass, and see other
