French Art Nouveau Figural Bronze Statue / Desk Tray / Ashtray

Circa late 19th Century / Early 20th century, Paris France

 

Charming bronze statue featuring a Pair of crouching Ducklings overlooking the pond below 
while eyeing the little frog on the bank of the pond. Sculptural nature setting.
Detailed solid cast bronze sculpture with natural rock ledge that the ducks are sitting on to overlook the pond.
The pond area itself can be used as a desk tray, dresser tray or vanity tray. 
Or you may simply use this as a wonderful, whimsical decorative statue.

Signed in the bronze A. Barotin or A. Baratiu (please see photos)
Foundry stamps on back: 'Susse Fres Paris Cire Purdue' 
Also stamped 'bronze' and has the round seal for 'Susse Freres, Paris, Editeurs' with the symbol.

Dimensions: 12 1/8" wide, 2 1/4" high at front, to 8"  high (duckling at back), 10 1/4" deep-front to back.

Condition: Shown as found, with original patina. Found without any sort of base,
we can have a marble base made if requested, for an additional fee.
