French Art Deco Silver Bronze
Figural Statue
Circa 1920’s, France 
Reclining dancer (woman) with young
deer (fawn). Cast in solid bronze with a polished
and cold painted silvered finish, with wear and original patina
intact. The woman has a typical
bob style hairstyle of the 1920’s, with a strappy dancer’s dress and
ballet flats.
Her dress has a thigh high side slit
that shows off her right leg, which is crossed over her left leg,
her arms rest behind her on the marble base. The original marble
base is signed,
‘Editions Reveyrolis, Paris' The last fold of her bronze dress is
stamped, ‘Bronze, Veritable’
Base Dimensions: 19 ¾” wide, 5 5/8”
deep, 1 7/8” high.
Overall Dimensions: 19 ¾” wide, 5 5/8” deep, 8 ½” high with base and
statue.
Condition: In good original as found
condition, patina and wear consistent with age, as shown in photos.
It appears that there were 2 small holes in the marble that were
filled,
they are located directly between the dancers arms.
