French Art Deco Elephants, Pair
Circa 1930’s, France

Hand carved pair of Art Deco period solid wood elephants.
Right and left posed elephants.

African inspired décor was all the rage in Paris 1920’s and 1930’s.
Ideal to flank an entryway or fireplace.

Painted black over a hardwood, the tusks attach separately
and are also made of wood (painted ivory, as are the eyes and toenails).
Note the detailing on the elephants hide texture
and the stylized chipped design on the base.

Dimensions: 32” wide, 18”, 35” high.

Condition: In very good original condition, showing some wear.
