Eileen Gray
Adjustable Height Modernist Side Tables, Pair
Design Classics, Circa 1927 Design, Late 20th Century
reproduction
Pair of the famous tubular chrome
side tables Eileen Gray
designed for the iconic Modernist house referred to as E. 1027.
This table was designed in 1927 and later put into production again
in the 1960’s.
Since then, it has become one of the most iconic pieces of Modern
design.
These wonderful side tables have glass tops and adjust easily
with the insert of a pin into holes spaced at 1 ˝” stops,
allowing the user to adjust the height from 21 ˝” to over 31” high.
Multi-functional, the C shaped base design was intended to slide
under a sofa or bed,
so that the round glass top could cantilever over the sofa or bed
when having a cup of tea and a snack, or even breakfast-in-bed.
Use two together at different heights as a sculptural nesting table
set.
Use them as nightstands or side tables.

BIO:
Eileen Grey
(1878-1976) is one of the most respected names
in the history of Modern design. Far ahead of her time and not
always appreciated,
Ms. Gray's work has finally achieved the ultimate status.
In February 2009,
a "Dragons" armchair made by Gray
between 1917-1919 (acquired by her early patron Suzanne Talbot
and later part of the Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé collection)
was sold at Christies auction in Paris for 21.9 million euros
(US $28.3 million),
setting an auction record for 20th century decorative art.
