French Modernist Side Chair
Attributed to Jean Charles Moreux (1889-1956)
Circa 1948, France

 

Unique and sculptural side chair with original finished legs.

Front legs have a sphere at the top with a tapered,
swirling design cascading to the floor.

Curved (just re-upholstered ) back and large seat, very comfortable!

Ideal as an occasional chair, vanity chair, in an entryway or as a writing desk chair.

This chair is typical of the design elements favored by French architect
and designer Jean Charles Moreux.

Dimensions: 33 1/2" high back. 19 1/2" wide back. 20 1/2" deep.
Seat: 18 1/2 " high. 18" wide seat, 17" deep seat.

Condition: Carved Beech wood legs with the original worn, white painted finish.
Recently re-upholstered in a tan ultrasuede.
