Multi-functional Cabinet and matching small dining
table/desk
Circa 1960's, France
Spectacular Modernist Suite,
faced with exotic Macassar Ebony veneers that have been expertly
applied in a creative Modernist almost Harlequin like marquetry
pattern, with inlay details and
mother of pearl dots. Accented with Bold black lacquered hairpin
legs and polished nickel accents.
The interior is beautifully finished in Sycamore (glass display
area) or Mahogany (storage cabinets
and door interiors). Polished Nickel Twist style door locks turn
and prevent inadvertent door opening,
however, there are no key locks on this piece. Overall these
items exhibit top quality design and construction.
The multifunctional cabinet
features several compartments: a clear glass front top display
or
audio equipment area, 2 lower storage cabinets with adjustable
shelves, 2 drawers and a drop front,
hinged cabinet with a clear glass shelf that can be used as
either a dry bar or secretary cabinet,
ideal for use with a laptop computer.
The small dining table
makes an excellent desk, and has
the ability to add (custom ) extension leaves if so desired. The
inlay design and Mother of pearl dots
that line the center of the table, compliment the cabinet
perfectly. Both pieces have tapered square
shaped legs that are slightly rounded at the corners, painted in
a high gloss black lacquer and
capped with polished nickel sabot feet. This suite is ideal for
use in an office or a living room/dining
room that requires a small dining table.
Please note: due to sunlight glare the top appears darker in the
photos; the tabletop is a perfect match for the cabinet,
with the identical marquetry work.
The cabinet and table dis-assemble for easy transport and getting in &
out of rooms & hallways.

long as shown. Custom leaves can add up to 36" in length.
The center of the table is 35 1/4" wide, slightly tapering at
the ends to 33 1/8" wide.
25 3/8" clearance below the top and table apron, to the floor.
Cabinet Overall Dimensions: 87 1/2" wide, 59 3/4" high, 20 1/8"
deep top-cabinet is 19 3/8" deep.

Glass top display area with by pass sliding clear glass doors:
17 1/8" deep, 11" high, 48 3/8" wide.
Left end cabinet with 2 adjustable wood shelves: 20 3/4" wide,
16 1/8" deep, 32" high.
Drop Front Secretary or Bar cabinet with 1 clear glass
adjustable shelf inside: 27 1/4" wide, 17" deep, 19" high.
Drop front door, when open, 27 1/2" wide, 20 1/2" deep-plus
depth of cabinet.
2 drawers below the drop front cabinet, inside dimensions, each:
3 1/2" high, 24 3/4" wide, 14 3/4" deep-back to front.
Right end cabinet with 2 Doors and 3 adjustable shelves inside:
16" deep, 34 3/4" wide, 43 3/4" high.
Condition: In excellent restored
(November 2009) condition, with a high gloss clear French
Lacquered finish
over the macassar ebony and high gloss black lacquer trim.
Hardware has been re-plated in polished nickel.
