French Art Deco Bookcase/Entertainment Cabinet or Bar
In the manner of J E Ruhlmann
Circa 1930’s, France

 

Unique cabinet, likely a custom commission for a horse lover.
Carved Equestrian Plaque on Center TV Cabinet acts as a subtle door pull,
with a routed finger pull under the right side. The cabinet rests on a very elegant
plinth style base with triple carved center scrolls, much in the style of Ruhlmann.
This may even be an early design of his, we are currently researching this.

Left and right side key locking cabinets are framed in the original verde painted metal,
with semi-opaque glass that has a carved and etched diamond pattern.
These side cabinets are ideal for books, dvds, cd.s etc.

Double doors are full swing for ideal television viewing.
Opens easily to expose an entertainment cabinet, ideal for a flat panel TV.

This can also be used as a bar cabinet or armoire.

Just restored and looks FABULOUS !

A very special and rare cabinet, from a country estate in Southern Bavaria.
Double sided for use as a room divider.
Finished on both sides and on each end.

Cherry veneer over pine, with either ebonized pilasters or ebonized half round columns.
Each side of the cabinet is nearly identical,
with the difference being the pilasters or columns (one style on each side)
Gold leaf detailing at the top of each column and pilaster.
Key locking with all original keys and original cast bronze keyhole decorations.

Colorful painted Pine armoire from the Alpine region of France.
Area of Val d’Isère, one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in the world.
Tests on the paint have indicated that the cabinet was hand painted
approximately 100 years after the cabinet was made.

It featured 2 double doors with raised panels and 2 lower drawers.
The original wrought iron door latches and drawer hardware is intact and functional.
The traditional Louis Seize straight lines, with crown molding at the top
that is also detailed to match the doors and trim.

This was designed by the home’s architect. Modernist Custom made Swarovski chandelier hangs from the polished nickel post that supports the cantilevered glass shelves. Bold Modernist Art Deco period Room divider of figured walnut that has been expertly book-matched
to create a unique and sculptural room divider.

Features floating glass shelves, a drop down, key locking bar cabinet, enclosed and glass front storage, open radius designed shelves. Various key locking compartments.
One side is ideal for a built in bed or sofa if so desired. Used to divide a dining room from a living room, but can be used in an office or master suite as well.

This unit disassembles for easy transport. The height can be changed if needed.
