Streamlined design, In Macassar Ebony Circa 1930’s, France

Exotic and
Rare Macassar Ebony with a fresh French polished finish. The radius
curved floating nightstands attach to the headboard, that has a stepped profile to emulate the popular skyscraper
theme of the 1930’s. Sleek design with curved edges on the inside edges of the
nightstands and on the headboard’s top edges. The nightstands both feature
swivel out drawers
with polished chrome sphere pulls.

Below the swivel out drawer
is an open shelf,
ideal for books or a small decorative object. We have had 2
custom 3/8” thick polished
edge clear glass panels made to protect the macassar ebony tops
of the nightstands.

beds created during the Art Nouveau era to create a large (then) King size. These were intended for use together, as the inside side rails were made
without decoration, unlike the outer side rails, that feature a flowing profile with raised
decorative trim. Classic Art Nouveau organic design details.
Hand crafted of solid hand carved Walnut. Flowing design theme with
bamboo stalks and rounded leaves. Includes, headboards, footboards and side rails.

Famous designer bed by Alfred Roth, construction supervisor for Le Corbusier’s
landmark project, the Weissenhof Siedlung house in Stuttgart, Germany.
In 1927,
several very different
experimental houses designed by leading European modernist architects were built
for the
Weissenhof Seidlung exhibition in Stuttgart.
This bed design was used in the
famous home (now preserved by design historians) and is a period production,
ideal for
collectors of modern design.
