noted furniture & interior designer, the late great Jay Spectre.
Spectre designed an entire collection for
Century Furniture back in the 1980’s. It was quality construction
with
an Art Deco inspired contemporary flair.
These sleek chairs have a bleached
hardwood (white oak) frame and round tubular chrome plated front
legs. Very architectural design.

chairs are featured in the May 2008
"Great Design" issue of Architectural Digest

Removed from a castle in Austria.
Very unusual pair of Art Deco period chairs. Bold design with a center medallion, much like the exotic designs of Carlo
Bugatti. Highly polished Black Lacquered finish, in the quality of Eileen Gray or Jean
Dunard. Carved design is painted with a beige lacquer, to resemble an ivory inlay when viewed from a distance.
Please note the designs are not identical, but very similar-as they were done by
hand.

Macassar Ebony solid frame
with sycamore inlay. Decorative 'dots' border the top edge of the wood back and back area of the arm
rests. Linear inlay of sycamore on the top front area of the arm. Hand Carved melon style feet. You will find a few variations of this chair in the Ruhlmann books.
