Art Deco Signed Printemps Cubist Desk and Bookcase
Circa
Early 20th Century, 1910-20's, Paris, France.
Rare and important collector's office suite.
Attributed to Marcel Guillemard.

This suite was a custom commission from the Primavera Design Studio
at Paris' premier department store, Au Printemps.
Features four unique exotic wood inlays featuring the Sciences;
including compass', square, triangle,
a world globe, stars and the moon, a telescope and more.

This suite would be ideal for a
Architect, Scientist, Freemason Enthusiast
or collector of very rare furniture.
Both pieces have carved sleek bun feet and ebonized edge trim.
Both the desk and bookcase break
down for easy transport and assembly.
The desk has a good
sized work surface and is open from both sides if you need a small partner's
desk.
The lower cabinets have key locking doors with 4 inside pull outs on each side
(8 in total).
Reverse side of desk is void of decoration, the inlay is only on the side with
the doors.
The bookcase features
both open and enclosed storage/bookshelves.
Four key locking side cabinets, with the original keys.
Interior side cabinets (upper) have adjustable shelves inside.
Lower cabinet has left and right key locking compartments, ideal for portable
files.
A center bank of 3 wide drawers can store larger flat items and office supplies.
Original bronze drawer pulls with patina intact.
Dimensions:
Bookcase: 6' High, 16-18" Deep, 5'-6" Wide.
Desk Top: 55" X 32".
Condition: Both pieces in Very
good (near) original condition with only the desktop
restored with a French polished finish, by Diego Valotti of Old World French
Polishing.
