Art Deco / Art Nouveau Wall Fountain
Polychrome Terracotta. Sea life theme.
Circa 1920’s, Europe

This rare and wonderful fountain can be used inside or out!

Thoughtfully designed with a variety of sea-life.

Figural fountain of a young ( Neptune ?) boy,
holding a large half shell on his head, which acts as the basin for the fountain.

The young boy is draped in a fishing net decorated by seashells
and is surrounded by sea life, pond creatures and water plants / flowers.

Very pale sea-foam green color glaze over a beige base color.

Border design features water lilies and lily pads.
Background features water iris’, cattails and sea-life animals:
a frog, a dolphin, a lobster, a fish and a conch shell.

This fountain was inset into a wall, as you can see from the sides and back.
The water traveled from the bottom up through the back, to the shell basin.
You can see from the back photo, the piping and the drain pipe.

Dimensions: 44” high, 23 ½” wide at top of seashell, lower section is 22” wide.
 12 ” deep (decorative part). 15 ½” deep overall, with section to be inset into a wall.

Condition: In as found condition, with some (repairable) chips and cracks.
These are surface cracks, not structural. This fountain is intact, not in pieces of any sort.
As you can see from the photos, this fountain is in overall wonderful
vintage condition. Should you prefer it to be repaired,
our expert restoration person can do this for an additional fee.
