Pair of French Art Deco Hand Wrought Iron
Interior Gates / Room Divider / Entryway Frame
Circa 1920’s, France
In the manner of Raymond Subes.
Left and right pair of panels can be
wall mounted on one side and used to frame a room entrance.
This style of interior gate/room entrance
was popularized during the 1925 Paris Exposition.
They were used in many homes to separate the living and dining rooms.
Classic Art Deco scrolls, graduating from each side at top of each panel.
Center design on each gate features a Modernist Egyptian Lotus flower,
with more scrolls creatively forming the flower stem and urn.
Clouds surround the flower to form a framework.
Each scroll is skillfully tapered at the inner end.
Dimensions: each panel ; 69 ¼” High, 41” Wide, ¾”
thick.
82” wide overall if used side-by-side.
Condition: In excellent original condition, patina
intact, as shown in photos.
I believe these gates were always used as interior gates.
