Japanese Art Deco Doors, Pair
Circa 1920’s, owned by the Ambassador to Japan.
From a Castle in Bavaria, Germany

Ebonized and hand painted interior swing doors, Pair.
Top quality construction. The reverse side is a dense wood in a pattern.
This could be stained or painted to match your decor.
The doors are solid and very heavy, making them very soundproof
and an excellent choice for a theater room.

Please note: We could not assemble the matching door frame in our warehouse,
so you will see the frame shown in pieces below...

History: These doors came out of a castle in Bavaria, Germany.
The castle was called "Burg Hauenstein".
The castle was owned by the Ambassador to Japan (at the time)
who left Japan to return to Germany in 1912.

These doors were built about this time, very early Art Deco Era.
The castle was since sold by his descendants and the new owners
removed everything oriental and redecorated.

We also have the matching (larger) pocket doors and a large urn from this estate.
